Straffing Runs

Concept:

Entering in to range in such a way as to make your opponent think you are going one way when in fact you are going somewhere else.  Do not engage up the center but to one side or there other.  Once within range, continue to engage and then pass back out of range along the predetermined route you have chosen.

Practice:

Pick a point on one side or the other of your opponent.  Advance towards that point but do not throw shots at that point.  Instead throw shots at all other points you can in order to draw your opponents attention away from the selected point.  Once you have arrived at the selected point throw any additional shots and continue back out of range keeping both offense and defense active to prevent response.

Think aikido/aiki-budo.
